Tripwire Hook
The Tripwire Hook is a Redstone component used to detect entities crossing a tripwire line. It is commonly used in traps, security systems, and Redstone contraptions. A Tripwire Hook is crafted using 1 Iron Ingot, 1 Stick, and 1 Plank of any type in a 3×3 crafting grid. It can also generate naturally in Jungle Temples, where it is used as part of a pre-made trap.
To use a Tripwire Hook, the player must place two Tripwire Hooks facing each other on opposite blocks, up to 40 blocks apart. Connecting them with String creates a tripwire circuit that activates when a player, mob, or dropped item touches the string, sending a Redstone signal to adjacent blocks.
A Tripwire Hook can be mined instantly by hand or with any tool. Unlike Pressure Plates, a Tripwire Hook can be triggered from a distance using arrows or other projectiles, making it useful for hidden Redstone traps and security systems.
